Design and build
This smart phone’s main body is made of Glass, Accents and Aluminum. It does resemble the LG G6 in all ways. Looking at them side by side, you would think one is the other. Truth is, the difference between these two phones is in the internal features they have. Anyway back to it, it has these dimensions the LG G6+ > 5.86 x 2.83 x 0.31 inches and weighs just about 163 grams. At 7.9 mm it is quite slim for a phatblet smartphone. On the back of it is a deal camera setup (horizontally placed with the LED flash between them). Then right below them is the rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Down low is LG branding.
The front part has this ‘infinity display,’ like Samsung calls it where the screen covers most of the front part of the phone. The bezels are so much reduced to increase on display estate. The top bezel houses the selfie camera, sensors and the call speaker. Volume and power buttons are on opposite sides of this smartphone.
Display and camera
The display of this phone I have talked about already. It comes with a 5.7 inch IPS LCD panel of 80% screen to body ratio. It has a resolution of 1440 x 2880 pixels (561 ppi pixel density). It is a very sharp display that I cannot go without saying. With great viewing angles, good sunlight readability, great color representation and so on, you will get the best of display here on the LG G6+. These are the features of this display (some): HDR video support, scratch resistant glass (corning gorilla glass 3), Ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
A great display has compliments great camera performance. Here is why. Why would you have a great display to view poor picture quality? LG G6+ has a 13MP primary camera. It is dual camera set up as mentioned earlier. The other (second) primary camera is for taking wide angle pictures. 125 degrees to be precise. Optical image stabilization, auto focus (phase detection), image sensor, manual focus, RAW image, touch to focus, smile detection, voice activation, self timer and so many more are just but a few of the many camera features on board here.
The selfie camera is an impressive 5MP shooter that does just great at its work. It has a wide angle feature as well with same functionality as the second primary camera.
Video recording stands at a minimum of 720p HD and a maximum of 4K. time lapse video, picture taking during video recording and digital image stabilization are among the few video features availed here.
Performance and memory
It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, quad core 2350 MHz Kyro (64bit) processor and an Adreno 530 GPU.
Memory wise, it has an internal memory of 128GB which can be expanded up to 2000GB using an SD card. 4GB of RAM run the LG G6+. Performance on this phone is smooth, seamless and without stammer. Multitasking here is a breeze all thanks to the RAM count. Gaming is quite enjoyable because of good processing and graphic card functions.
Battery of the LG G6+
Non-removable 3300mAh battery here with support for wireless charging and quick (50% in 30min) charge. With it you get 30hours of talk time (26 on 3G) and 5.8 days on standby. Amazing is it not?
Connectivity and network
- DLNA, wireless screen share
- FM Radio
- 3.5mm jack
- GSM, HSPA and LTE
- Dual SIM (nano)
- HD voice support
