Then came the Blackberry DTEK60, the immediate successor of the DTEK 50 (check it out here https://phoneplacekenya.com/product/blackberry-dtek-50/ ). Blackberry still holds it that the DTEK line is a line of the most secure smartphones. The DTEK 60 comes with even more security improvements with its DTEK software. DTEK still protects the private details of your life from being hacked, notifies you when your privacy is at risk and gives solutions for the same, monitors overall security rating of your device and suggests how to improve it, encrypts your data, allows you to control permission of individual apps and so on. Let us see what more the DTEK 60 has to offer besides being a secure device.
Design and Build
The DTEK has some improvements on its design when compared to the DTEK 50. The difference however is mainly on the back side since the front still has thin bezels, two front facing speakers on top and bottom and selfie camera. The sides of the BlackBerry DTEK 60 is made of an aluminum metal frame with same button placements as in the DTEK 50. Volume rocker and convenience key on the left and power button on the right hand side. On the back is a glass panel that really looks nice, a camera with a fingerprint scanner below it. Blackberry’s logo is also on the back side of the DTEK 60. It has a fine finish. It stands at 153.9 x 75.4 x 7 mm and weighs 165 grams.
There is also an improvement her. A 5.5 inches (71.9% screen-to-body ratio) with 1440 x 2560 pixels (534 ppi pixel density). Its QHD display is eye popping, crisp and clear especially because of the AMOLED capacitive touchscreen it has. You get decent viewing angles, good color and contrast without any over saturations. You also get plenty of sharpness on graphics with this display. It is scratch resistant and comes with oleophobic coating for screen protection.
A 21 MP primary camera features on the BlackBerry DTEK 60. I have to day, this camera is a beast. Good images, sharp, crispy, pictures look natural and detail is paid attention to. It has dual LED flash, phase detection and auto focus. It also features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama modes. Manual mode is also present for BlackBerry DTEK 60.
The selfie shooter is also a good one. At 8 MP its images also look nice and shoots up to 1080p.
Video stands at 2160p@30fps, 720p@120fps. Its quality is also great and video stabilization on the BlackBerry DTEK 60 has been improved by blackberry.
Performance and Memory
The BlackBerry DTEK 60 is well equipped. A Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, Quad-core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) CPU and an Adreno 530 GPU.
Internal memory the DTEK 60 is 32GB and runs on 4GB of RAM. Memory can however be expanded up to 256 GB using an external SD card.
Battery: its 3000mAh battery is an okay capacity. Blackberry says this battery will take you through 24 hours of mixed usage which the DTEK 60 has lived up do. It has an endurance rating of 81 hours.
It is a good thing Blackberry DTEK 60 supports fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0)

Blackberry also did well in this category with the BlackBerry DTEK60. Four stereo speakers, two front facing and two at the back. So whatever position your phone is, you get some loud sound with no distortions. DTEK 60 has a 3.55mm jack and features a dedicated mic for noise cancelation. It also supports Vibration; MP3, WAV ringtones alert types.
I am impressed with the blackberry DTEK 60. It has a good build and packs good features. Blackberry has delivered a good product with the BlackBerry DTEK 60 flagship. I do recommend this phone to persons who love blackberry DTEK 50 but want a phone that offers more or just anyone looking for security baked in on an android powered device.
