This is my favorite Fero phone. A little throwback moment here. Bringing the old back in a stylish way. The term “mulika mwizi” when referring to phones in the Kenyan market is interpreted as small and simple phone with a 1 to 9 numbered keypad with a torch. Well, here is a review of Fero’s mulika mwizi phone.

Design and build

Okay let us a get a vivid picture of this phone before I describe it. This is a mulika mwizi phone, good? Now we can continue. It is not the regular mulika mwizi phones you get with other manufacturers, this is one phone Fero made with all their heart. I love this phone I have to say again, on the personal favorite list of mine, I rank it 1. Facing you is a display screen on top of the 1 to 9 numbered keypad which we all relate with and have used at one point in time. Then on in addition to the numbered keypad are the home button and direction keys around it, the call + menu key together and the end call and back buttons together. K9 branding is on the top left. On the back is a camera with a patterned speaker grill then Fero’s branding. It measures just 132*56*14.8 mm and weighs 135 grams.

The display size is 6.35 cm with a QCIF (240*320) resolution. The display panel is TFT. Well, you know already know the quality to expect here. It is a colored screen by the way, just for the record.

Its camera is a 1.2 MP shooter. Okay picture quality here. It is on the back of the phone though which is not reflective of this phone’s naming. Fero? But okay.

Performance and memory

The Fero K9 selfie has a Mediatek MTK6261D chipset, has an internal memory of 32 MB with 32 MB of RAM. Internal memory can be expanded up to 32 GB using an SD card. Not all mulika mwizi phones can do that right?

Battery: this Fero K9 has a 2,800mAh battery. Need I say, this battery will last you a lifetime before next charge? Guess not. We all know mulika mwizi phones are be best when it comes to battery life. You get up to 720 Hours of standby which is 30 days with simple math conversion.

GSM/2G network support 900/1800Mhz network for basic browsing, Bluetooth v 2.0, torch, Facebook, Twitter, FM radio, Mp3 player and a Micro USB port (Fero knows the days of pin ndogo charger are over).

Personal favorite the Fero K9 phone. Has a stylish design and handles all the basic stuff you would expect of it just fine. I recommend Fero K9 to everyone. Like really, everyone should have this phone.
