HTC Desire 830
Released in May 2016 I would like to think the HTC Desire 830 as a recent smartphone in the market (it is 2017 at time of review). It is one phone that HTC fans waited for with a lot of hype. And when it was released, this phone sold like some hot cakes in a people’s favorite restaurant. Interested to know why I decided to do a review of it just to see what it has to offer and if truly it lived to the hype that surrounded it. This is an overview of the HTC Desire 830 which by the way is the successor of the HTC Desire 828 check it out https://phoneplacekenya.com/product/htc-desire-828-dual-sim/ .
Design and build
We see a very typical HTC design with the HTC desire 830. From a first time glance you can automatically tell it is an HTC. With all the colors nicely played with on the phone to add on its looks. I love how HTC doesn’t decides to paint their smartphones, this one mostly (check out link attached to have a look). It has HTC’s branding on the middle back of it, a camera and an LED flash on the top left corner. Facing you is a 5.5 inches display panel, HTC branding, a selfie camera, dual speakers and a sensor. The design is simple and neat without any unnecessary additions. The textured power button is on a different side from the volume rocker. It measures 157.5 x 78.9 x 7.8 mm and weighs 56 grams.
A 5.5 inches display panel of 67.1 percent screen t body ratio and 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density) resolution. It is a Super LCD capacitive touchscreen that supports multi touch and 16 million colors. I love the display on this phone. Crisp, sharp, accurate, natural and bright. It has good viewing angles and is easily visible in direct sunlight. It truly is a display too good for the price tag of this phone. Yes it a 16 million colors display wit support for multi touch and comes with corning gorilla glass protection to ensure its durability. Good display on the HTC Desire 830.
This is one of the pillars that define a god smartphone. With the HTC desire 830 comes a 13 MP with aperture f/2.0 primary camera 28mm with autofocus, optical image stabilization (so your photos and videos don’t come out shaky hence blurry) and an LED flash. Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR are all software preinstalled. Then a 4 MP, f/2.0, 27mm, 1/3″ sensor size, 2µm pixel size selfie camera. I was more impressed by the primary shooter that gives clear shots and images. The pixel count on the selfie camera should not fool you though. It also is of decent quality. Video recording stands at 1080p@30fps with the HTC Desire 830.
Performance and memory
HTC Desire 830 comes running Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It has a Mediatek MT6795 Helio X10 chipset, processing is made possible by the Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and graphics performance is ensured by the PowerVR G6200 GPU on deck. It comes with 32GB + 3GB of RAM and which can be expanded up to 256 GB (SD card dedicated slot). It is a fast smartphone and runs smoothly even when a number of apps are running in the background. It also handles multi-tasking pretty well.
It seals a Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery which with HTC’s customization of software makes it last longer than what one would expect. Of course the time before next charge you get here depends entirely on your usage.
Connectivity and sound
There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC (depending on your market), FM Radio and microUSB 2.0.
Network: Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by). GSM / HSPA / LTE.
Dolby audio enhancement over the 3.5mm jack. Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. The loudspeaker output is great with its stereo speakers.
I recommend the HTC Desire 830 for it’s the good experience you get with it and good performance it has.
