Let me clarify the two versions of this phone, it is also know as the Nova 3e in China and Malaysian market.
Version 1 P20 lite: 32/64GB + 4GB RAM
16MP front facing camera
Version 2 Nova 3e: 128GB + 4GB RAM
24MP front facing camera
Every other detail of the two versions remains the same.
Design and build
I’ll start by saying, it is a beautiful phone this. With a glossy plastic back (strange really how this plastic shines), metal frames and glass front. The back has primary camera on top left corner and Huawei label on bottom left. The upper middle has the rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Front has slim bottom bezel with Huawei branding while the top is minimal with a notch that houses the selfie camera, sensor and call speaker. It measures 148.6 x 71.2 x 7.4 and weighs just about 145 grams. It is a beauty that’s for sure.
Display and camera
Display
It comes with a 5.84 inches LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen Huawei P20 lite.
Resolution : 1080 x 2280 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~432 ppi density). At 32 this is a sharp display giving it great viewing angles. A 5.84 inches display is also a large estate to enjoy videos, games, browsing etc on. It does support multi touch and 16M colors of course. Glad to see corning gorilla glass protection on board here. This will ensure screen durability.
Camera
Primary camera : Dual: 16 MP (f/2.2, 1.0µm) + 2 MP, phase detection autofocus with LED flash
Video recording is 1080@30fps with it
Selfie camera : 16MP or 24MP depending on version acquired.
Some of the camera features available include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. I say a 7/10 for camera performance on this smartphone
Performance and memory
Platform
It runs Android 8.0 (Oreo), has Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, an Octa-core (4×2.36 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU. Mid range specs here on a mid range smartphone. Fair enough.
Memory
Version 1 P20 lite: 32/64GB + 4GB
Version 2 Nova 3e: 128GB + 4GB RAM
Have your choice. Internal memory can however be expanded using a microSD card, up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot).
Battery
This Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery should last you a whole day of usage until next Fast battery charging 9V/2A.
Decent smartphone Huawei P20 lite. I’d personally fancy buying me one in the event I was to choose from the midrange category. Comes in Colors Klein Blue, Sakura Pink, Midnight Black- choose your style.
