Infinix S2 PRO
Here is what I would say about any or all Infinix phones. Three words, ‘Affordable yet Expensive.’ Infinix has hit the Kenyan phone market with a bang. Many people shopping for a good smartphone but cannot afford the sometimes overpriced high end devices end up settling for an Infinix device. But really that would not be the main reason why personally I’d buy an Infinix. For the good build quality it has to offer and specifications that one would look out for while shopping for a good smartphone, I would definitely recommend an Infinix S2 PRO. This is an overview of the Infinix S2 PRO.
Design and Build
The Infinix s2 Pro comes with a design that is way above its price tag. An all metal built phone that stands at 152 mm tall, 74 mm wide and 8.1 mm thin. It feels premium on touch due to the choice of material for its build. I love how its Arc 2.5 glass curses very slightly on top of its screen to give it a nice general front finish. On the front it has two cameras, which we’ll talk about, one camera on the back, volume rocker and power buttons on the sides.
The Infinix s2 Pro has a 5.2 inch IPS LCD Touchscreen, 16M Colors display that does support multi touch. It has a 720 x 1280 Pixels (~282 PPI) resolution which is okay. It is visible in direct sunlight. As already mentioned it has a 2.5 D glass protection that not only protects but also gives the screen a very nice finish. It
The Infinix s2 Pro’s camera is its core selling point. Now that would not be the case it the photos of this ‘camera phone’ weren’t as good as or even better than the cameras on other phones in the market today. The focus manly is on the front facing camera. Or should I say, cameras? Yes the s2 Pro comes with dual selfie cameras, the Selfie Camera and the Welfie Camera, both playing their own role. Basically the point is, the 8 MP Welfie camera can take Welfie photos of up to a 135 degrees viewing angle. Now that is wide. You won’t have to struggle to fit everyone in your shot. The other 13 MP, now selfie camera works just like any other selfie camera. Taking normal view angle pictures. I have to say both cameras take pretty decent photos. And so is the case for the 13 MP primary camera that has auto focus. Well, the hype around the camera concept might die with time, but that won’t take away the crisp photos that the Infinix s2 pro generally takes.
It also support video recording features.
Performance and Memory
The s2 PRO has the following processors: a 1.3 GHz Octa Core Cortex-A53 CPU, MediaTek MT6753 chipset and a Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. It comes with a built in 32 GB internal memory that can be expanded to 128 GB using a micro SD card so you can store your selfies and welfies without any worries. It also runs on 3 GB of RAM and ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The s2 Pro packs a LI-ion 3000 mAh battery that will surely see you last a full day. Its endurance rates haven’t been tested but a 3000 mAh battery for a 5.2 inch display should beat the benchmarks.
Connectivity and Network
The s2 Pro supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS support & GLONASS, and FM radio and a micro USB v2.o with OTG support. OTG allows you to connect your s2 Pro to an external memory hardware, like a flash disk. Kudos Infinix, many phones in this price range or even higher lack this feature.
Network: The s2 Pro supports GSM 2G, HSPA 3G and LTE 4G. It’s a dual sim phone with dual stand by.
Of course the s2 Pro’s loudspeaker can get loud, in an audible sense. It has dual speakers and a 3.5mm jack which is good to see.
Like I said, Infinix s2 Pro is a good product for a great bargain.
It comes in various colors, the black version looks stunning of them all.
