Infinix Zero 6 Pro

Alongside Infinix 6, Infinix 6 Pro was released. These two smartphones (have) caused turmoil upon their release following their unusually high price for an Infinix smartphone, by the company’s own standards. I mean over the years we have known Infinix for a particular reputation: making smartphones of great specifications sold for affordable amounts of currency. But now the trust has been ‘broken’ if I can say, especially with the Zero 6 Pro in particular. But let us not get ahead of ourselves here, shall we? Exercise some patience and see if the Zero 6 Pro will at the end of this review be worth the amount you shall pay for it.

Well, from a neutral point of view- I think this smartphone has some strong features as you can see from the list above. It worth the price to be honest. Guess what, if this were a Samsung or Sony or Nokia then I assure you no one would be complaining. Unfortunately, it is an Infinix.

Anyway, that aside- below are my thoughts and comments concerning Infinix Zero 6 Pro.

Design and build

Look, I still do not understand why most people are complaining about this phone. Its looks alone speak for it. It has an elegant design and brilliant build with a glass back finish with a front that made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to ensure its durability. All four corners if Infinix Zero 6 Pro are rounded to make it sit comfortably in the hands and it does.

On the back we see its impressive dual camera set up which I shall be discussing shortly with an LED flash below the bar that houses the cameras. A rear mounted fingerprint scanner has been placed above Infinix branding. That camera bar has been charred with a shinny (is it bronze) paint round its edges in the same fashion as on the phone’s edges. I think it is a beautiful phone this.

On the front we see a wide notch that has the usual front facing camera, sensors and a call speaker. And it should go without say that the notch can be disguised under settings menu. Than bottom bezel is noticeably slim. If you are after a stylish smartphone- feel free to look this direction. It comes with an all new design

Display

Well, Infinix is not really popular for stunning displays even though its 6.18 inches FullHD+

IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on the Zero 6 Plus does well. It takes advantage of Infinity display breakthrough with its Full HD panel of Ultra-wide field of view.

Camera

We get three cameras on this smartphone, three cameras to remember. First is its 20MP AI (Artificial Intelligence) front facing camera. AI aids in control of light and advanced facial recognition feature. As a result, selfies are transformed to magnificent images.

The primary camera dual 12MP+24MP. I will quote Infinix here just so I get it right. It “has a rear dual camera of 12MP that enhances capability for more light absorption on multiple angles enabling fast focus and 24MP low light sensor that produces incredible memory evoking images each time you take a glance.”

Performance and memory

Platform

Dear Infinix, Android 8.0 (Oreo) on a 2019 smartphone is unacceptable. We hope the same shall be corrected with timely system update to Android 9 (Oreo), thanks.

And ironically, I still come to Infinix’s defense by reporting that the Zero 6 Pro was a 2018 smartphone whose release date was delayed- but sill.

It has a midrange Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 (14 nm) chipset an Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 CPU and an Adreno 509 GPU.

Internal storage and memory

I love also love this department of the Infinix Zero 6 Pro. It has an internal storage of 128 GB and runs on 6 GB RAM. There is a dedicated slot for microSD in the event you want to boost the internal storage capacity.

Battery

Its non-removable Li-Ion 3650 mAh battery is a decent capacity for a smartphone of this caliber. It is equipped with 3A X-Charge fast battery charging.

Pros Cons
  • Elegant design
  • Impressive cameras
  • Long lasting battery
  • Good performance
  • Viewed as expensive

You can rock Infinix Zero 6 Plus with accessories including a smart cover or a soft silicon cover.
