By now we all know Nokia made its comeback to the market with the likes of Nokia 3 and Nokia 3310 (2017). This article is about the Nokia 8 which is yet another addition to the Nokia family of smartphones. Below is a list of its main features.

Nokia 8 was announced by Nokia in June 2017 and afterwards released into the market. It is a high end smartphone with impressive features and outstanding performance. This article is a review of it and will talk in depth about the above listed features and more. Let us take a look at the Nokia 8.
Design and build
Just like in the previous Nokia smartphones in the market today, Nokia 8 has good craftsmanship as well. It has a good grip on its non removable back that sees the phone get held firmly on your hand as one uses it. Its build is very solid and compact. We see Nokia branding on the left side of the top bezel, a call speaker and a selfie camera.
Below it is its 5.3 inches display panel. The bottom bezel has a physical home button that is a fingerprint scanner as well with touch recent and back keys besides it. It has the volume rocker and power button on one side leaving slots for SIM and memory card on the other.
On the back side we see a dual camera setup with LED flash horizontally placed and NOKIA branding too. It is a premium smartphone, and premium looks it does have the Nokia 8.
Display and camera
Its 5.3 inches display is an IPS LCD capacitive touch screen of 16M colors and support for multi touch. It comes with a 69% screen to body ratio and 1440 x 2560 pixels (554 ppi pixel density) resolution, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection to ensure a longer lasting display. It does have the premium always on display feature. The display on the Nokia 8 is one of the best displays in the market today. A very detailed and sharp display it is, with detailed images and exceptional viewing angles.
Three cameras here. The primary camera is dual, both 13MP with f/2.0 aperture, laser and phase detection autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, OIS and dual LED flash (dual tone) flash. The selfie camera on the other hand is also a 13MP shooter with phase detection autofocus .
Video recording stands at 2160p@30fps,1080p@30fps. Camera performance on the Nokia 8 is very impressive for all three cameras. Video recording is also great, with stable videos and good sound quality. Some camera features present with the Nokia 8 camera include geo tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama.
Performance and memory
It comes running on Android Nougat 7.1.1. Nokia 8 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, an Octa core (4 x 2.5 GHz Kyro & 4 x 1.8 GHz Kyro) CPU and Adreno 540 GPU for graphics performance. It has 64GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 256 GB using an SD card and runs on 4GB RAM.
These high end platform specs see the Nokia 8 run smoothly, seamlessly and satisfyingly. No lags whatsoever and as a result you get a good user experience especially with that close to stock Android 7.1.1.
It comes with a sealed 3090 mAh battery with an endurance rating of 78 hours. Nokia 8 supports Fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0).
Connectivity and network
WLAN (Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi direct, dual band, Wi-Fi hotspot), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS (with A GPS, GLONASS, BDS), NFC and 3.1 type C 1.0 reversible connector. Sound > 3.5mm jack with 23 bit 192 kHz audio, Nokia OZO audio and active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic. Network: GSM, HSPA and LTE.
