Yet another budget smartphone by Chinese company Oppo, the Oppo A71 (2018). It is referred to as 2018 since it was released in that very year. It is a way smartphone companies identify different models of the same version of a smartphone these days. Below are its main and key features.

Design and build
We see a very typical Oppo design when we see the Oppo A71 (2018). It does look a lot like the iPhone form both the front and back of course. I have heard of speculations about Oppo being a constituent company of iPhone. Anyway that aside. On the front are the top and bottom bezels (symmetric). The bottom one has three touch keys for back, home and recent respectively while the top one has a sensor, call speaker and selfie camera. On the back is the primary camera and flash on the top right corner and a shinny OPPO branding in the top middle. It has been kept as simple as that this phone. Also to mention is that it has a 7.6 mm thickness and weighs about 137 grams.
Display and camera
Its IPS LCD capacitive touch screen has support for 16M colors and can perform various multi touch functionalities. At 262 ppi density it mostly is bright, enough to see outdoors and its resolution is a descent 720 x 1280 pixels one. It is a 5.2 inch display of 68.2% screen to body ratio, covers 75 cm2 and has 16:9 aspect ratio.
Oppo is a company that made a market breakthrough because of its camera features. Here we get a primary shooter that is a13MP camera with and LED flash. It shoots video at 1080p@30fps. Some of the features available here are geo tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama.
The front facing camera is a 5MP shooter. Both cameras are as impressive as you would expect with an Oppo smartphone.
Performance and memory
I may attribute its running on Android Nougat v 7.1 to hardware limitations, but let’s hope for an update in the near future. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, an Octa core 1.8 GHz Cortex A53 CPU and an Adreno 506 GPU.
Its internal storage is 16 GB and it runs on 2GB of RAM or 3GB RAM (for version sold in the Indian market). Good news is that it can be expanded up to 256 GB using an SD card.
It comes with a user removable Li-ion 3000 mAh battery which should hold up a whole day of usage and even extend to the next day when it is mixed usage is involved. I say this is great because looking at its 3000mAh visa vie its platform performance and display size, you will get longer hours with the Oppo A71 (2018).
This is a very good and affordable smartphone. It comes with the choice of three colors gold, black and rose gold- have your choice. Buy an Oppo A71 (2018) today at www.phoneplacekenya.com.
