Design and build

That is a little something I have borrowed from Samsung (the Ready, Action). Galaxy A10 has a plastic build with a glass front. The front features a 6.2-inch display panel with Infinity V display (commonly referred to as waterdrop display as it should). Bezels have been pushed to the extremes here. On the RHD we see volume rocker and power button, the bottom has microUSB port (come on Samsung) and we and a 3.5mm jack.  One the glossy plastic back we see a single camera with its LED flash at the top right corner and a speaker grill on the bottom right. This is a simple and clean design which Samsung claims responsibility of by branding itself on the back panel.

Display

If you are after Samsung’s AMOLED display then I would suggest (for this A-line) you turn to the A20 and above since on Galaxy A10 the display is an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. If not, enjoy a large 6.2 inches, 95.9 cm2 display with (~81.6% screen-to-body ratio) and 720 x 1520 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~271 ppi density) resolution. It is a bright panel considering its resolution and display type. As Samsung puts it, you get a vivid viewing experience with the next generation Infinity V display. Thanks to HD+ resolution this is a decent display on a pocket friendly smartphone.

Camera

There is not so much sophistication with camera performance of Galaxy A10. Its simple 13MP primary camera and 8MP selfie camera get the job done in the best way they can.  Interesting enough, the main camera (which is a wide lens by the way) does astonishingly well in low light photography. And to see its front facing camera shoot neat pictures will motivate your love for both lenses. Video recording stands at 1080p@30fps and I doubt there is any way the quality would be better than this. To put it this way-Samsung Galaxy A110 gives its all with cameras performance.

Platform and storage

This is an Android 9.0 (Pie) smartphone and Samsung introduces ONE UI on its budget smartphones with the Galaxy A10. It is driven by an Exynos 7884 Octa chipset, an Octa-core (2×1.6 GHz & 6×1.35 GHz) CPU and a Mali-G71 MP2 GPU. You can run multiple apps here without a beat on this fairly powerful multitasker.

Memory

You probably need a microSD to expand its 32GB internal storage up to 512 GB. There is a dedicated slot for this add-on storage. Memory-wise Galaxy A10 runs on 2GB of RAM which I think Samsung has been generous with considering other manufacturer’s stinginess with memory capacity on their budget smartphones.

Battery

The battery sealed within in a non-removable Li-Ion 3400 mAh battery that lasts and lasts. Had Samsung made a type C smartphone in the A10 then we would have seen fast battery charging featured here. Should this be a concern then consider Galaxy A20 and later models like the A30, A40 and so on.

Why you should buy Samsung Galaxy A10

  • Affordable
  • Long lasting battery
  • Samsung’s One UI on latest software update
  • Fairly good performance for a budget smartphone

It is available in color Blue, Black or Red- consider buying one today
