Samsung Galaxy A6s
Announced in October and released in November of 2018 was the Samsung Galaxy A6s. And now, it is. The A line has become a favorite of Samsung alongside the J line. These two lines sell the most midrange smartphones for Samsung and have gained love and favor from many due to their solidity. This article will describe the Galaxy A6s which I believe comes after the 2018 Samsung Galaxy A6 2018. Check it out also at Phone Place Kenya. It and many other smartphones as well.
This has been a good year for Samsung in the midrange category. They have released quite a number of smartphones that have held up well and competed strongly with other models from other brands. So it goes without say I am very expectant here to review the Galaxy A6s and cannot wait to share my thoughts. That being said, let us first take a look at it main features. Communication and network
The most overlooked yet most important thing about a phone is its communication and networking ability. It is not a phone if you cannot communicate with it. A 4G enabled smartphone you will get here in that regard with Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and a USB: 2.0, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
There is no NFC mentioned here so I’ll have to assume there is no NFC on the Samsung Galaxy A6+. Now that is somewhat a letdown. But a minor detail to most, I also assume.
Design and build
What do you see when you look at the Samsung Galaxy A6s? I see a polished device. With looks of class and fashion, a beauty and an amazing thing to look at. With the choice of Black, White, Blue, Pink or Red you can have your A6s however you want. It has these dimensions 156.1 x 76.4 x 8.4 mm. On the back we see a primary camera (dual) on the top right corner and in horizontal orientation with that LED flash right below it.
Then a fingerprint scanner sits on the top quarter of the back and SAMSUNG branding in the middle. The front has symmetrical bezels on the top and bottom. The side bezels are visible but slim. That top bezel has the call speaker, selfie camera and what seem to be sensors. Bottom bezel chin has been kept clean.
Display and camera
I love the display on the Samsung Galaxy A6s. It is a very impressive Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen that stands tall at 6.0 inches, 92.9 cm2 (~77.9% screen-to-body ratio). Its 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution makes good colors and a vibrant display.
Quite a sharp display with stretched viewing angles and great outdoor visibility. This display has support for 16M colors, multi touch and boasts that big boy 18:9 aspect ratio. Also I have to mention that the ppi density for the A6s’s display is ~402 ppi density.
A Primary camera: 12 MP, PDAF with a supportive 2 MP depth sensor is what we get as the main shooter of this phone. It also comes with an LED flash for those low light scenes and boasts features like panorama and HDR. Video recording with it is high end at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@30fps video recording.
Quite a CV this don’t you agree? Then facing you is that 12 MP Selfie camera that will also wow you at how crisp it is in its assignment. I think camera performance on Samsung Galaxy A6s scores highly. My verdict is 80% since these cameras are super impressive. You will not find camera this good on any midrange smartphone out there that you can trust.
Performance and memory
The A6s ships running on Android 8.0 (Oreo) with a Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) chipset, an Octa-core (4×2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260) CPU and Adreno 512 GPU. Quite respectable specifications here on the A6s with a powerful processing unit.
There are two variants of the Samsung Galaxy A6s with respect to internal storage. The first has 64GB and runs on 6GB RAM and the other 128 GB also with 6 GB RAM. With 6 GB of RAM you can never go wrong. Tasks and multitasking will be a breeze and even gaming for them who love to will be in seamless fashion.
The internal memories of each can be expanded here using a micro SD card but you will have to sacrifice the SIM slot to enjoy this function. This can also be said as ‘this is a Hybrid Dual SIM smartphone.’
The Galaxy A6s comes with a Non-removable Li-Ion 3300 mAh battery that should last you up to a whole day of usage or two depending on how heavily you use your smartphone.
This is smartphone I confidently recommend. It is a perfect high end midrange smartphone the Samsung Galaxy A6s and it is very much available for unbeatable prices at Phone Place Kenya. I suggest you buy yours today.
