This is the review of the 2017 Samsung Galaxy J7 core the successor of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Max and Pro, also o 2017. It seems Samsung will not end the production of the J line of Galaxy Smartphones. This line started way back in 2015 with the Samsung Galaxy J7 volte, well known as the J7 2015. The line has since been maintained and we keep seeing more and more J smartphones year in and out. This article will highlight the main features of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Core and talk about them in brief. With that said, let us see what this smartphone has to offer. It is also known as the Samsung Galaxy Neo.
Design and build
The Samsung Galaxy J7 core has a very familiar Samsung J design. It almost looks like the original J7 from 2015. The front side of it features a flash, a call speaker, a proximity sensor and a selfie camera (on the top bezel). The bottom bezel on the other hand has the centrally placed physical home button with the back and recent soft keys to its left and right respectively. It has a 5.5 inches display panel. The back of this smartphone has the protruding primary camera with an LED flash besides it and Samsung branding on the middle top. It features a plastic design the Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt which constitutes to its fairly light 170 grams weight. It has these dimensions- 152.4 mm x 78.6 mm x 7.6 mm. The look it has is quite simple.
As earlier mentioned, the display on the Galaxy J7 Nxt is 5.5 inches of 70% screen to body ratio. It has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels (267 ppi pixel density). It does support multi touch and 16 M colors. The display is decent, with good sunlight readability and color representation. The side bezels of the Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt are slim to allow a wider display estate, which is a plus for the wide screen fans.
Two cameras here. A 13 MP primary camera with aperture f/1.9, 28mm, autofocus and an LED flash. The secondary camera on the other hand is a 5MP shooter of aperture f/2.2, 23mm with LED flash. Both these cameras take some really nice photos as one would expect with a Samsung J smartphone. One will however love the primary camera best I have to note. Some of the camera features on board are geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and panorama.
Performance and memory
I should have mentioned at the beginning of this article that the Samsung Galaxy J Nxt is a mid-range smartphone. The below described features explain why.
It comes running on Samsung’s Exynos 7870 Octa Chipset, an Octa-core 1.6 GHz Cortex A53 CPU and a Mali T830 MP2 GPU. It is good thing Samsung ships this smartphone with the latest version of Android (as at time of this review), Nougat 7.0.
The performance of the Galaxy ace is fine, very minimal stutter and hanging. Or let’s just say, even if there is, it is not to a level one would easily notice- unless they are really looking for it.
It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB expandable memory up to 256 GB using an SD card.
Communication and network
Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot
GPS with A GPS, GLONASS
FM Radio with RDS Recording
Micro USB 2.0
3.5 mm jack
Network> Dual SIM GSM, HSPA and LTE
It comes with a removable 3000mAh battery. Capacity enough to last a full day of mixed usage.
It is a very good budget smartphone the Samsung Galaxy J7 Nxt. I love that is has decent platform and camera performance, and also that it comes with a non removable battery. A good smartphone it is, a mid-ranger I would confidently recommend. It comes with the choice of two colors- Black and Gold.
