Design and build
Well overlooking it’s dual camera setup the Galaxy J7 Duo does borrow much of its design inspiration from the original Galaxy J7 of 2015. It has this plastic build that’s sees it weigh 174 grams and dimension wise it exists at 153.5 x 77.2 x 8.2 mm.
Front: Activity on the bottom bezel with physical home button that doubles up the fingerprint scanner too. Beside it to the left and right ate touch capacitive keys. Top bezel has a selfie camera, a flash and a bunch of sensors.
Back: Has been kept clean with only the primary camera with LED flash beside it and SAMSUNG label.
Display and camera
Its 5.5 inches display panel is a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. Very sharp it is and with good viewing angles. It also comes with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, 16:9 ratio (~267 ppi density). Low ppi density implies a bright screen when need be, say outdoor conditions for example.
Primary: Dual: 13 MP (f/1.9) + 5 MP (f/1.9), autofocus and it does have a supportive LED flash. Some of the features it has include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR while Video recording is at 1080p@30fps max.
Front camera : A decent 8 MP (f/1.9) that comes with an LED flash as well for lighting enhancement.
All three lenses are quite clinical shooters. I give them a score of 7/10.
Performance and memory
Android 8.0 (Oreo) straight out of its package. Samsung’s very own Exynos 7885 Octa chipset powers this device hand in hand with an Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 6×1.6 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and a Mali-G71 GPU.
32GB internal memory expandable with microSD, up to 256 GB (dedicated slot) with 4GB of RAM. Really can’t complain about any bit of this department.
Like the j7 2015 it packs a Removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery. I’m a fan favourite of removable batteries to be very honest.
A great budges mid range phone it is, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo. Be sure to check out all its colour variants before deciding which one to go for.
