Released in June 2017, the XZ Premium gives a bench mark to its competitors and on the other hand gives an impressive gadget to its users. Sony is always keen with its flagship devices, bringing in new features while keeping the good ones from its predecessors and doing away with the not well accepted ones. The XZ Premium is yet another release of the Korean company that does not fail to impress. Below are the main features of the XZ Premium.
Build and Design
A beautiful 156 x 77 x 7.9 mm, 195g phone! At first or second or third sight, it doesn’t matter. It has a Corning gorilla glass 5 back which is stunning due to its reflective finish. The glass on its front and back with plastic sides give it a seamless symmetrical look that is just pleasing to look at. Its top and bottom are made of metal. Buttons are placed they usually would be as on any Xperia high end device. All of them on the right side and a dedicated camera button is also present. The XZ Premium just looks beautiful. No other way to describe this phone.
Afraid of accidental water or fluid spills on your phone? Well, the XZ Premium is IP68 certified – dust/water proof over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. You need not worry about that.
Its power button doubles up as a fingerprint sensor too. Which is a plus for security reasons.
Design wise, it has an attractive build language.
Display
This is where SONY has really stepped up its game. XZ Premium comes with a 4K display of 3840 x 2160 pixels (807 ppi pixel density) resolution that just sees the sony xperia XZ Premium give a sharp and incredible display. Its IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen 5.46 inch display also has Corning Gorilla 5 protection among other secondary ones like Sony’s scratch resistant screen.
Camera
Well, for those well versed with Xperia devices, you already know what to expect here. A 19 MP, f/2.0 primary camera with predictive phase detection and laser autofocus and LED flash. Touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama are also available. A new HDR for video recording with video stabilization also comes with the sony xperia XZ Premium. With the variety of modes available for both cameras, you literally have full control of it. Pictures are crisp and sharp as one would expect with an Xperia device. Also to mention other features like slow motion video and intelligent active mode for video recording. Electronic image stabilization also features for the camera.
Its secondary camera is a 13 MP, f/2.0 shooter.

Its non-removable 3,230 mAh battery is great with an endurance rating of 72 hours. This will see you through a whole day with ease. Also this phone supports quick charge 3.0 so really running low on charge should not be a great concern. You can go from 0 to 100% in a significantly lesser amount of time.
Sound:
The XZ Premium features a loudspeaker with stereo sound output. It has front facing speakers on its bezels and 24-bit/192kHz audio on earpiece (3.5mm jack present).
The XZ Premium is a step in the right direction by Sony. It packs almost all premium features its premium design. I would say, this is Sony’s best device, yet.
