TECNO Camon CX Air

What or whoever is responsible for TECNO’s popularity in Kenya did a marvelous job. TECNO has a pretty large share in Kenya’s phone market. Not only for its affordable price but also for what the phone itself has to offer. TECNO Camon CX Air was released after a hyped series of ads and wait. Initially we expected this phone to be named the Camon 10, given its predecessors bore the Camon prefix and a number, like the Camon 9 and Camon 7. That really was a nice twist from TECNO not to be so predictable. All the same, the X is still 10, in Roman Numbering. Enough said. This however is the review for the CX Air, the lite version of the CX.

Design and Build

The  Tecno camon CX Air features a build that is same to the CX’s, of course. It has a full metal body design which if you ask me looks really good on the CX Air. Comes with a fingerprint sensor at the back which is placed right above the TECNO branding that looks really nice when viewed from different angles. Almost at the bottom of the phone is a Camon brand too. The primary camera sits at sits top left corner with the Qual LED flash right beneath it. It is quite thin and rather light too. Its front part has this circle at the top bezel which we shall talk about. The design is the best from TECNO ever since. At least in my opinion.

Okay, I’ll keep saying this in every step of this review. This is TECNO’s best phone ever, yet. At 5.5 inches the 720 x 1280 pixels resolution on this phone which is lower than the CX’s but still, does a great job in color representation, visibility and viewing angles too. It is of course better looking than previous displays we may have seen from earlier TECNO phones. It is protected with a 2D display glass with Gorilla Glass. I love how TECNO hasn’t lost a lot with the  Tecno camon CX Air’s display with comparison to the CX. Unless you see them side by side, you may not see the difference.

This Air’s camera, selfie camera is also its main selling point. A keep observer would note that the ‘O’ on Camon is a camera shutter. That alone should say it all. One surely can’t miss seeing CX’s 13 MP front facing camera. The selfie picture samples I have seen and taken using the CX are still outstanding just like in the CX! My quick question here again, how many times will you get a good 13 MP Selfie camera this good? And at this price?

Its primary camera is yet another 13 MP shooter with a LED flash. Although the main camera focus for the both the CX’s is on the selfie camera, the primary one is also a detailed and decent shooter on the Air.

Performance and Memory

The CX comes with a 1.25GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6737 CPU, 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB using an SD card runs on 2GB of RAM and ships with Android Nougat 7.0 with TECNO’s HiOS version 2.0 skin.

The Tecno Camon CX air packs a 3200 mAh battery just like the CX which is 200mAh improvement from its predecessor the C9. More power packed with the CX Air and you should last a full day of usage here. It also supports quick charging. I also love have TECNO chose not to sacrifice the battery capacity with the CX Air.

All TECNO phones have a loud and audible loud speaker. The case is the same with the CX. It has 3.5mm jack and quality of calls is also great. Its speakers just like the CX’s are on the bottom part of the phone.

This is TECNO’s best phone ever, yet. After reviewing it I’m tempted to declare the Camon series TECNO’s flagship line except for, it is the only mid-high end line TECNO has. It is a good solid phone that’s nailed it on its design and its main selling point, the camera.

It comes in four colors Gold, Elegant Blue, Grey and ahem! Rose Gold.

I recommend this phone for everybody!

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the official website for the CX. But be sure to check http://mobitrends.co.ke/tecno-camon-cx-price-in-kenya/.html
