TECNO Camon CX (TECNO C10)
What or whoever is responsible for TECNO’s popularity in Kenya did a marvelous job. TECNO has a pretty large share in Kenya’s phone market. Not only for its affordable price but also for what the phone itself has to offer. TECNO Camon CX was released after a hyped series of ads and wait. Initially we expected this phone to be named the Camon 10, given its predecessors bore the Camon prefix and a number, like the Camon 9 and Camon 7. That really was a nice twist from TECNO not to be so predictable. All the same, the X is still 10, in Roman Numbering. Enough said, what really does the CX, which by the way has a lite version the CX Air have to offer?
Design and Build
The TECNO Camon CX features a build that is totally different from its predecessors and the TECNO brand in general. It has a full metal body design and almost looks like the iPhone 7 from a far which if you ask me looks really good on the tecno camon CX. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back which is placed right above the TECNO branding that looks really nice when viewed from different angles. Almost at the bottom of the phone is a Camon brand too. The primary camera sits at sits top left corner with the Qual LED flash right beneath it. It is quite thin and rather light weighing 167 grams. Its front part has this circle at the top bezel which we shall talk about. The design is the best from TECNO ever since. At least in my opinion.
Okay, I’ll keep saying this in every step of this review. This is TECNO’s best phone ever, yet. At 5.5 inches the 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution on this phone is the best display on any TECNO device, again, yet. It is protected with a 2D display glass with Gorilla Glass. Its viewing angles are respectable and brightness can also be high making it visible in direct sunlight. I love how TECNO tried to improve overt their previous versions.
This phone’s camera, selfie camera to be exact is its main selling point. A keep observer would note that the ‘O’ on Camon is a camera shutter. That alone should say it all. One surely can’t miss seeing tecno camon CX’s 16 MP front facing camera. The selfie picture samples I have seen and taken using the tecno camon CX are outstanding, crisp, clean, detailed you name it! It is good to give credit where it is due, and here, with the tecno camon CX’s selfie camera TECNO surely takes the price. Here’s a quick question, how many times will you get a 16 MP Selfie camera this good? And at this price?
Its primary camera is yet another 16 MP shooter with a Qual-LED flash, which, I can’t help but note is found again on the iPhone 7. Not to market the CX or anything, I’m just saying it as it is. Although the main camera focus for the CX is on the secondary camera, the primary one is also a detailed shooter.
Performance and Memory
The CX comes with a 2.0 GHz Octa-core Helio (P10) processor, a Mali 860 GPU and 16 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB using an SD card. The CX runs of 2GB of RAM and runs Android Nougat straight from its package.
The CX packs a 3200 mAh battery which is 200mAh improvement from its predecessor the C9. More power packed with the CX and you should last a full day of usage here. And alas! It also supports quick charging.
Network: CX supports GSM, HSPA and LTE networks.
Connectivity: CX supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot and GPS
All TECNO phones have a loud and audible loud speaker. The case is the same with the CX. It has 3.5mm jack and quality of calls is also great. Its speaker is located at the bottom part of the phone.
This is TECNO’s best phone ever, yet. The Camon series which is TECNO’s flagship line has done an exceptional job with the TECNO CX paying attention to its design and its main selling point, the camera.
It comes in four colors Gold, Elegant Blue, Grey and ahem! Rose Gold.
I recommend tecno camon cx for everybody!
