Tecno Camon X
Lately TECNO has been releasing some very solid smartphone. Solid in all aspects and departments, be it performance, design, build you name it. This year (2018) there is yet another Camon Smartphone by TECNO, the Tecno Camon X. It is among the very few smartphones that have hit the market with a bang. For this reason I opted to do a review of it and below I have shared it with you dear reader. First we shall take a quick look at its main features then later on we shall discuss them.
I also have to mention that there is yet another Camon smartphone, the Tecno Camon X Pro which I have done a review of in a different article.

You will get this smartphone at a very affordable price. Considering its features, I think TECNO has just decided to gift this smartphone to its esteemed customers. I have noted that argue-ably the selling points o this phone are in its camera department, looks and battery performance as we shall learn in just about a few. Below is my description of the Tecno Camon X. be sure to read my review on Tecno Camon X Pro to see the gritty differences.
Design and build
I have to say, being a great budget smart phone I think TECNO has put in a lot of effort in making this phone. Its design has been kept simple here. Many companies have learned that simplicity accommodates the, majority and TECNO understands that as well. Anyway it is an okay looking smartphone. This I say because I feel the X Pro version has a more striking look to a keen eye. But all the same, they almost look the same. On the front is a clean bottom bezel and a top bezel with a selfie camera, call speaker and light sensor. The back is typical TECNO with the primary camera, finger print reader and TECNO branding. Its dimensions are fairy the same as the ones on the X Pro.
Display and camera
They display panel is an IPS LCD capacitive touch screen. It has a resolution of 1440 x 720pixels resolution. I love this display for how well it brings out colors and how bright it can get while outdoors. You will not need strain just so you can see what is on the screen even while in direct sunlight. Yes and it does have 16M colors and supports the multi touch function- meaning for some features/apps/WebPages e.t.c, when needed you can say zoom or do operation with more than one finger.
More focus was placed on the front facing camera. A whooping 20MP shooter it is and just so you know, it is a very impressive one. Pictures (selfies) with it are crisp and very much detailed. Rarely do you find 20MP cameras on a front facing lens. The other is the primary camera which is also great at its work. At 16 MP you do get some descent photos with it, and even in low lighting the LED Flash will always work some magic.
Performance and memory
It runs on Android OS version 8.0 Oreo. Surprisingly enough TECNO decided to go with the latest version of Android (as at time of review) here- this is very good. It also has a MediaTek Helio P23 chipset an Octa core 2.0 GHz CPU and a Mali G 71 GPU to ensure the device is up and seamlessly running.
It comes with 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128 GB using an SD Card. RAM is 4GB. These are above average platform and storage specs.
The battery is a whooping 3750mAH one. It should hold up for a whole day of even extreme usage.
I love this phone. It is one I would most definitely recommend. It is available in black only.
